Renting construction equipment in Panama: what you need and how it works

Short answer

To rent equipment in Panama you need to settle the machine and the term, give the site address and present your paperwork: as a company, your current RUC and the details of whoever signs; as an individual, your ID and a security deposit. Either way the lease is signed before delivery. RentaCentro dispatches in Panama from its branch in Ciudad de Panamá; quotes are in US dollars (USD), by the day, week, 15 days or month, with or without an operator and with maintenance included. Availability of each machine in Panama is confirmed when you quote.

Panama: what's different

In Panama, rentals are coordinated from the Vía Ricardo J. Alfaro (Tumba Muerto) branch in Panama City, dispatching to job fronts in the metro area and the interior: La Chorrera, Colón, Penonomé, Santiago, Chitré and David. For sites outside the city, tell us the location when you quote and mobilization is scheduled.

Panama doesn't have a printed RentaCentro catalog yet: the current fleet is the one on this site. Rates and contract are in US dollars, with the same maintenance-included standard as all four countries. Panama is one hour ahead of the rest of the region, and business hours are counted in local time.

How far delivery reaches

Delivery and pickup are coordinated across Panama, with safe lifting and transport; freight is quoted separately based on the distance to your site. These are the cities with their own page on the site and the branch closest to each (approximate road distance: it helps you get your bearings, it isn't the route or the charge):

  • Ciudad de Panamá (Panamá): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~7 km.
  • La Chorrera (Panamá Oeste): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~45 km.
  • Colón (Colón): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~70 km.
  • David (Chiriquí): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~425 km.
  • Santiago de Veraguas (Veraguas): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~250 km.
  • Chitré (Herrera): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~200 km.
  • Penonomé (Coclé): Ciudad de Panamá branch, ~140 km.

What equipment you can rent

The fleet is owned — not a marketplace — and regional: 128 units across 8 categories that are moved to wherever the job is. These are the machines with a page on the site you can request in Panama, by category (Komatsu excavators are listed only in the countries where they are):

  • Earthmoving: Bobcat S18 Skid-Steer Loader, Bobcat S590 Skid-Steer Loader, Komatsu WB93R-5E0 Backhoe Loader, Bobcat B760 Backhoe Loader, Bobcat S570 Skid-Steer Loader and Bobcat E50z Mini Excavator.

  • Concrete: SIMAQ SQREVG365LTS Concrete Mixer (1 bag), SIMAQ 365 Electric Concrete Mixer (2,200 W), SIMAQ Electric Concrete Vibrator (3 HP), SIMAQ S100 Power Trowel and SIMAQ Floor Saw.
  • Aerial Work: SIMAQ SQ 140X PRO Scissor Lift (12.4 m) and SIMAQ SQTHZ 170 PRO Articulating Boom Lift (13.7 m).
  • Material Handling: Hangcha 2.5 t Forklift and SIMAQ 2.5 t Pallet Truck.

What you need to rent

We rent to companies and to individuals. What you present changes; the service doesn't:

  • Company: current RUC from Panama, the details of the person signing for the company and the lease signed before delivery. If you already have a credit line with Grupo ConstruMarket, it applies to the rental.
  • Individual: valid ID, a security deposit — set by machine and term — and the lease signed before delivery. The deposit is returned when the equipment comes back, less any damage beyond normal wear.

What the rate includes and what's extra

  • Included: the machine with preventive and corrective maintenance, hour monitoring, on-site technical support and, if the fault can't be fixed, a managed replacement. The daily rate covers 8 machine hours.
  • Extra: fuel (supplied by the customer), delivery and pickup freight by distance, operator (except on rates that already include one), extra hours measured by the hour meter, damage beyond normal wear and the VAT of the country where you're invoiced.
  • Currency: in Panama quotes are in US dollars (USD). If there's a current published rate, you'll see it on the equipment page and the rates page, with its validity date and whether VAT is extra; otherwise it's quoted on your term and location.
  • Terms: from one day. There are daily, weekly, 15-day and monthly rates, and 6-to-24-month contracts on preferred terms.

How to get a quote in Panama, step by step

  • Build your list in the quote form with Panama as the country: add each machine with the + button from its page or from this guide. If you're not sure which machine your task needs, the equipment advisor tells you in two questions.
  • Put real start and end dates per machine: not every machine has to arrive on the same day.
  • Write the exact address and how to get in (gate, slope, overhead lines): freight and lifting depend on it.
  • Get the proposal in writing: rate, freight and terms in one document. Check whether the rate includes an operator and VAT.
  • Sign the lease and receive the machine with a documented inspection: hour meter, fuel level and photos of any existing detail.

Common mistakes

  • Quoting without the exact address: freight depends on distance and access.
  • Assuming fuel or freight is included.
  • Going by a price in an old social media post: the rate that counts is the current one, with its date.
  • Ordering the machine without saying whether it comes with an operator.
  • Showing up to delivery with nobody who can sign the record.
