How it's charged

Tools rent by the day, week, 15 days or month. The site's estimate counts by started period: if you use 10 days on a weekly rate, that's two weeks; on the 15-day rate, one period. That's why it pays to say how many real days of use you have when you quote: that number picks the term that pays least for unused time. On equipment with an hour meter, the daily rate covers 8 machine hours.

When there's a current published rate, it shows on the equipment page and the rates page, with its validity date and whether VAT is extra. Otherwise it's quoted on your term and location.

What's included and what's extra

  • Included: preventive and corrective maintenance, and support if the equipment fails.
  • Extra: fuel for gasoline equipment (rammer, gas mixer, power trowel, saw), supplied by the customer.
  • Extra: delivery and pickup freight, by the distance to your site.
  • Individuals: a security deposit set by equipment and term, returned when it comes back, less damage beyond normal wear.
  • The VAT of the invoicing country, unless a published rate says it's included.

Electric or gasoline

The electric mixer is the same 365 L drum without fumes: for indoor and urban work, on single-phase power. The gasoline one, with a 5.5 HP Honda engine, is for sites without power. The fleet's vibrator is electric. If your site has no power, plan the pour around the gas mixer and confirm how you'll power the vibrator.

Build the kit by task

  • Pouring a slab: mixer and vibrator; the power trowel on finishing day; the saw for the joints.
  • Trench or backfill: rammer; if the trench is wide, the walk-behind roller for the surface.
  • Opening a floor or street: floor saw and, to break, the compressor with your pneumatic tool.
  • Façade: scaffolding by the module for as many days as it takes.
  • Warehouse or unloading: pallet truck.

In Guatemala and the other three countries

Tools rent in all four countries where RentaCentro operates: El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama. In Guatemala, from the Mixco (Ciudad de Guatemala) and Quetzaltenango (Xela) branches, with rates in quetzales. Pick the country in the quote form so your request reaches the right branch; availability of each item is confirmed when you quote.

Common mistakes

  • Ordering tools without saying how many real days of use you have.
  • Assuming fuel is included.
  • Renting the electric mixer for a site without power.
  • Forgetting the vibrator or the joint saw on pour day.
  • Leaving tools idle for days before using them: order each one for its date.
